Hormone Optimization "Giving you that competitive edge"

Testosterone levels gradually decline at a rate of about 1-2% per year starting your late 20's. Because this happens so slow, men often do not notice these symptoms and do not realize how low their Testosterone actually is until years later. Most men in their late 30 and older are operating at about 50% of your optimal range. We usually treat males who are over 35 years of age but there are some exceptions.

Questions to ask yourself:

· Do you have a decreased sex drive & ED?
· Is it getting more difficult to get in shape and do you tire more easily?
· Are you not getting the same results from your exercise routine?
· Do you lack the energy to get to the gym and recovery time is getting longer?
· Have you lost some of the zest for life and feel depressed?
· Is your body getting soft especially around the mid-section?
· Are you eating the same or less and gaining weight?
· Have you lost some of your mental quickness and even having memory issues?

· Is the fire going out of your sex drive and your orgasms weaker?

Testosterone is a principal androgen, or male sex hormone. It is important to realize and understand the benefits. Testosterone is one of the group of compounds known as anabolic steroids, testosterone is secreted by the male testes.

Testosterone begins to decline in men at about age 30. Low testosterone has a number of negative effects on mental, sexual and physical health. The most common type of treatment for testosterone deficiency is known as testosterone replacement therapy and it is prescribed to treat symptoms and problems associated with Hypogonadism - the medical term for low levels of natural testosterone and/or relative Andropause - the medical term for low to normal levels of natural testosterone.

Symptoms of Hypogonadism:

· Decreased mental sharpness
· Decreased energy and strength
· Decreased muscle and increased fat
· Decreased sex drive
· Heart Disease & Arteriosclerosis
· Osteoporosis
· Decreased erectile function
· Depression and/or loss of eagerness and enthusiasm
· Irritability (20-25% of men – heard of “grumpy old men”)
· Increased risk of cancer (low testosterone levels increase risk)

Effects of testosterone therapy

· SEXUAL POWER Increased sexual potency and frequency
· CHOLESTEROL Lowers cholesterol levels
· ENERGY Increased energy, stamina and endurance
· MEMORY Improved mental functioning and ability
· MOOD Improves mood and feeling of well-being
· HEART Protects against heart disease
· CONCENTRATION Improved concentration and focus
· MUSCLE Increased muscle strength and mass

Other Key Hormone Imbalances or deficiencies:

Adrenal Imbalance

The adrenal glands produce three types of steroid hormones: glucocorticoids (cortisol), mineralocorticoids (aldosterone), and androgens (DHEA/DHEAS). Cortisol enables the body to respond and adapt to the stresses of daily life. It also helps to maintain blood sugar levels and promote a healthy immune system. Aldosterone works to balance salt and water in the body. Androgens secreted by the adrenals provide the majority of DHEA for both men and women. For women, the adrenal glands are the major source of testosterone. Imbalances in the adrenal system can contribute to problems with the nervous and immune systems, body composition difficulties, blood sugar irregularities, and high androgen levels.

Thyroid Function Imbalance

Thyroid hormones control the body’s metabolism. The brain produces thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) which triggers the thyroid gland to produce two types of hormones – T4 and T3. In hypothyroidism, the body has inadequate levels of the thyroid hormones. This often leads to imbalances in relation to other hormones. Hyperthyroidism is a less common condition that exists when excess thyroid hormones are present. Because every cell of the body is affected by thyroid hormones, symptoms of imbalances are often varied and affect multiple body systems.

Insulin Imbalance

Insulin is secreted by the pancreas. Insulin “unlocks” the cells to allow glucose (sugar) from food to enter and be converted into energy. When too much glucose is present in the body, the pancreas increases the amount of insulin being produced. High insulin as well as high glucose may contribute to multiple symptoms. A number of conditions are associated with insulin and glucose imbalances and regulation problems. These include chronic stress, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes.

Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency

In childhood, growth hormone (GH) controls a child’s height. It is normal for GH levels to decline as a person reaches adulthood, but new research suggests that some adults may have too low a level. Low levels of GH are linked to poor immune system, poor muscle tone, increase body fat, low energy levels, and cardiovascular changes, cholesterol and memory issues. GH insufficiency is associated with pituitary gland problems, brain injury, autoimmune disorders, and nervous system conditions. Growth hormones is not a steroid as many media outlets suggest.

Growth Hormone is a delicate sequence of 191 amino acids and works as a "repair" hormone. To take full advantage of HGH, balance and correct your other hormones first.

How are the hormones replaced?

Hormones are replaced using either injections or a 10-20% transdermal topical cream formulated to your needs that is applied to the surface of the skin.

Reference range and Optimal levels:

  • Testosterone: 350-1400 Optimal 900+
  • HGH: 114-492 Optimal 350+

Does hormone replacement and hormone optimization work?

Yes! It is medical science at its best. Over the years there have been hundreds of case studies and medical trials that provide absolute, conclusive evidence that hormone therapy works and has many benefits that result in better health, energy and sexuality. It is board certified doctors using sophisticated lab tests and treatment protocols to produce life-altering results.

I've seen other clinics on the web, which is the best place to go to?

Caution: Unsupervised hormone replacement therapy is dangerous. There are many web sites that purport to be clinics. They will proudly display they have no waiting rooms and no doctors to see. These companies will have sales people that recommend therapy programs to you. Sometimes this is done even before having your lab work and medical evaluation. You will never get to talk to a physician! Any company that does not have physicians available in person, nor require you to get a physical examination, is not a legitimate company. This practice is dangerous and illegal.

What results can I expect with HGH and/or testosterone?

Everyone is different but with hormones optimization, many patients report the following (results may vary from person to person):

  • 1st Month: Increase in mental sharpness, enthusiasm for life and an elimination of a mild to moderate depression. More energy, better results from exercise and weight control efforts. Better sleep.

  • 2nd Month: Improved muscle tone, enhanced sexual function, improvement in nail growth improvement in skin tone, better digestion, increased strength & weight loss. Improved hair growth-thickening of hair with a shiny & healthy appearance.

  • 3rd Month: Mental processes improve, including desire to do & complete projects, increased muscle size, especially if the individual works out, hair growth, reduction in post menstrual symptoms in women, increased sexual desire, greater body flexibility.

  • 4th Month: Same as 3rd Month: Generally most improvements are heightened and more consistent.

  • 5th Month: Impressive weight loss, reduction of inches, since fat is reduced & muscle tissue is increased, toned improvement to skin texture, reduced appearance of wrinkles, Vast improvements of hair growth.

  • 6th Month: This is a rather significant stage since cellulite greatly diminishes, body is more contoured, eyesight is greatly improved, stronger resistance to colds, flu, and other illnesses, some pain & soreness will disappear, old wounds have healed or are healing, excellent exercise tolerance, grayed hair begins to return to natural color, medical test show a reduction in cholesterol (LDL) & triglycerides, blood pressure normalizes, heart rate improves, some conditions due to disease vanish or are diminished & immune system improves.

Is it safe?

Yes. There are numerous studies that have come out over the past years that have attested to the safety of natural hormone replacement. Remember, all our programs are physician supervised and medically monitored to offer you absolute confidence and security. We use only bio-identical hormones in our therapy. i.e. hormones equal in molecular structure to what the body produces naturally.

Are there side effects?

There is a potential for side effects with HGH and testosterone like with any prescribed medication. However, side effects can be avoided or minimized by following the doctors' orders, following your prescribed dosage protocol and taking advantage of ancillary medications that are recommended to be used with your hormone therapy.

When should I think about replacing hormones?

In the average man and woman, hormones start to decline in the mid to late twenties. By age 35 declines are sufficient that symptoms may be evident. The best time to start replacing hormones is between age 35 and 40. However it is never too late. We have men in their 80's that have found a new life. We do not proscribe HGH to anyone under 40 without severe deficiencies of IGF-1 levels and even then it is very rare.

Do you recommend replacing both testosterone and human growth hormones at the same time?

Hormones may be replaced separately or in any combination only if medically necessary. The combination of HGH with another hormone like testosterone is by far the most effective when compared to single hormone therapy. Scientists and anti-aging doctors believe that this synergistic effect occurs because HGH pushes the testosterone (and other hormones) into the tissues and cells where they are needed. Taking both HGH and testosterone increases the effectiveness of almost any kind of replacement therapy. The interesting thing here is that HGH levels are restored to optimum levels when other key hormones, such as testosterone, are also replaced.

Will hormone replacement cause my natural hormone production to decline?

Cycling of hormones is designed to minimize the possibility of a decline in your natural hormone production. Cycling is taking time off from hormone replacement. When outside (exogenous) hormones are introduced into the body, the gland producing that hormone senses that the body has an adequate supply of the hormone and does not need to work as hard and may become "lazy". Cycling is mandatory for growth hormone and for men under 45 on testosterone. In addition, on-cycle and post-cycle medications such as HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) can be prescribed to promote the natural production of testosterone and maximize results.

Will hormone therapy help sexual dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction can have many causes; however replacing hormones is the best place to start treatment. We suggest raising your testosterone to a healthy level along with growth hormone, (if cost is not a prohibitive factor), to boost your sex drive. If there is still need for assistance, consider something like Viagra after talking to your doctor. This process has been found to fix over 90% of problems of sexual function especially with transdermal creams.

Does HGH have to be injected?

It is the only medically proven way HGH can enter the body and be absorbed correctly. HGH injections are painless and safe. However, for patients who prefer to have the HGH injections without needles, we have introduced a needle-less injection pen which is able to administer HGH by air pressure. Patients can purchase this pen home to self-administer their hormones.

Is this testosterone the same as that being used by athletes I read about?

Not likely. Athletes and body builders typically use synthetic testosterone made in a laboratory known as "designer testosterone". It is designed to push testosterone to very high levels which usually results in a corresponding rise in estrogen - it stresses the body and is therefore unhealthy. The testosterone we use is bio-identical to the testosterone produced naturally by your body. Our aim is to safely and effectively reverse your biological clock and would never subject your body to any harm by excessive and unsafe hormone treatments such as those touted on the market.

What other things can I do to optimize my hormones?

You can optimize your anti-aging therapy by taking good quality anti-aging supplements daily. These supplements should help you combat free radical damage, maintain strong skin and bones, and build a good immune function. You may read more about our Youth Enhancement System here.
